Can a Field Hockey Goalie Stick be used on the field as defense?

I need a new stick because my old one is too short. I play primarily goalie, but occasionally have to play defense. I want to know if I have to buy two sticks or not. Does any one know?

  1. no...goalie FH sticks are thinner..you need to get a field stick

  2. Sry... the rules say you can not be a field player with a goalie stick. And if goalie sticks were better for field players they would change the rules, but there not. I know its wicked annoying to have to keep buy a new stick. Just so you know some full time goalies like regular stick better for being a goalie, and that is llegal. If you need a new stick, and won't be using it much, maybe you could use someones on the team's when there not playing. Like the person that fills in for you as goalie.

Or try play it again sports, the sticks are cheap, and they are new and used.

    Hope this helped =)
