  1. I would not recommend trying to race the Honda CRF230L as they are basically built for trail riding and not meant for racing.  You would only be asking for trouble and may even get hurt as it would be like sending a donkey to the race track to race against the Thoroughbreds.

  2. the crf 230 is made to be used as a trail bike. THATS IT!!!

there are a few modifications you could make to it so it will run better, but to be used as a race bike...no way....

that bike does not make near the amount of power needed to race, but it is a good trail riding and desert bike.....

  3. not a chance.....the frame flexes and the suspension is not stiff enough for even moderate jumps.

  4. They can be used for racing but i would highly not recommend it. Because of there size they are in the 250 class which is incomparable! Don't race the 230 just ride it for fun!!

  5. Absolutely not. A CRF230F can't even be used for racing unless you are just going to putt around the track. Of course the L model is even worse because it is a little heavier. I recently sold a 230F that I used as a pit bike. They are a ton of fun but the suspension has basically no adjustments and will simply break under race conditions...sorry.
