this is not a question about the multi-system ability nor is it about hyper band.

I would like to know if the fact the in the USA the power is 60hz and in EU it is 50hz will not allow the TV to work.

  1. Back in the day when TVs were analog, they depended on the line frequency to sync their electron guns to display an image. An American TV would not work properly in Europe while plugged into Euro power, even while displaying an American NTSC signal.

However, LCD TVs are electronic and they don't depend on the utility frequency to display images. If the power supply on your TV accepts both 110V and 220V then it will be able to display American (NTSC) signals just fine while plugged into Euro power. My HDTV can even take PAL signals and display them, converting as it needs to, so you might be able to use your TV directly on Euro signals too. Check your manual or go online to the manufacturer's web site to see if it accepts the dual voltages and/or dual signals.

  2. I would think it would work with a power converter.  When in EU that's what I used to run my US purchased electronics like computer, radio etc.
