Question:

Can a MacBook pick up same Wii wi-fi connection?

Okay so I am planning on buying a MacBook and am just curious about how I will be able to connect to the internet wirelessly with it. I have a PC desktop as well, but that's connected to the internet via wired connection. I as well have a nintendo Wii that has built in wi-fi, and everytime I turn it on it picks up a connection from a neighboor or something and I am able to go online.

So my question to you, do you think a MacBook will be able to pick up that same signal, or would it be too weak? Would you recommend me buying a wireless modem regardless the fact that I can steal someone else's wireless internet for free?

Thanks!

  1. Stealing other people's bandwidth is illegal in most jurisdictions, so yes - get a wireless router of your own.

  2. yes- the macbook's built in airport pick's up signal better than the wii's
