So, I am a very liberal person.

And I believe in and support all of the "typical" Liberal things.

Included in that I support womens equality, right to her body and to make decisions against it, and I am completely against violence towards women.

Typically If you are a woman this makes you a Feminist, but what about if you are a man, are you still a Feminist.

  1. Feminism, like many –isms is a very broad church and I doubt there are two feminist theorists who are in agreement about each other. The freewebs website quoted is open to the charge of ‘journalistic’ disturbing but it falls into the trap of spinning a narrative and reading like some sort of conspiracy theory. There is no holy book of feminism, no Bible which lays out its doctrinal structure which must be interpreted, defended and fought for in innumerable ways. There are many strands to feminism and they have their internal differences. For example, feminist theorists cannot agree whether there are or are not inherent differences between the sexes.

Describe yourself as a feminist if you want to, just be prepared to articulate why you call yourself a feminist. I do not see why the term should be appropriated by a certain subset of ideologues, when it has origins and usage which predates their births.

  2. You can be a feminist if you want to and support the cause of equal rights for all people.  Labels are a useless method of putting people in to pidgeon holes without really taking time to know who they are and where they have been in life.

  3. If a black Jew can be a KKK member, a man can be a feminist.

  4. A man can be a feminist (I used to be) only if he doesn't know what feminist is about. See Sections 1 and 2 here http://www.freewebs.com/feminism-evaluat... and you will see what I mean.

  5. Sure they can but most men will consider them a traitor.

  6. Could a white man have being a civil rights activist? Could a German feel compassion for victims of the Holocaust? Yes. A men too, can be a feminists if they understand equality and human rights.

  7. I have been a feminist for more than 50 years. As a (male) physics professor, I was successful in helping many women succeed in the sciences, engineering, and medicine, and I'm very proud of that. I am still a member of NOW, NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and several similar organizations.

So I guess the short answer to your question is yes.

  8. yes

  9. yes and many are.

  10. No, a real man cannot be feminist. A man who allows himself to be called a femist (a) has been misguided by feminist propaganda or (b) thinks it'll give him an entree into a woman's pants - it won't, it'll just make him even more despised.

And you are completely wrong in thinking that most women are feminists.

I'm an equalist so I abhor feminism and racism.
