Sorry but thats really gross. One man is enough for a woman, just like one woman should be enough for a man !i In islam only men can have multiple wives, the women dont get to have multiple husbands !i

So your saying everytime a woman is pregnant she has to go get DNA testing to find out who the father is? Thats just dumb. A muslim woman should only have one husband, she doesn't need more.

No coz according to Doc Zakir Naik, women are more suseptible to STI's and also, there (Islamic prediction) will be more women than men. What will all the women do? Remain celibate? Especially when it is sunnah to marry (when you marry, you complete half the deen)

Men are REQUIRED to take care of their wives.......women aren't financially responsible for anything.  

Also men go to war...and die......women don't.  

But yeah, lets say you know a widow......you donate money to her and everything is good..... but times get tough for you......   You have to think about your own family.  

If you marry the widow.....she is your family and you are required to do whatever it takes.   Take on that second job or sell the house and move into a small apartment.....thinks you maybe were not willing to do in the charity situation.  

I was also given the situation where if lets say your wife goes crazy and honestly needs to be put into an asylum.......marriage is over, but you do still love her.   You can not divorce her......eventually remarry and you have soemone to be at home to take care of your wife rather than committing her.  

And in the reverse situation......a guys male friend goes nuts.....he can marry his wife out of respect....

You have to see the ruling on polygamy in context. Men in Islam were not allowed to marry more than one, so they can fulfil their sexual desires. Polygamy provided a solution to some of life's problems back then. Like when there was a shortage of men, for example after a devastating war, many women were unable to find husbands. So most women in that situation, given the option, would rather have been a co-wife than no wife. People incorrectly assume Muslim men will have multiple wifes, this is seldom found in Islam today, and if you read teh Qur'an, it stipulates that he is to have no more than one wife.

As Serenity said, if the tables were turned, say the women had 2 husbands, and  got pregnant., just imagine the conflict between the 2 husbands – disputing over whose child could be. However, that's just one of the reasons.

The Roman Catholic Church is facing the same problem today in parts of Africa. Social and economic reasons are forcing the Church to reconsider polygamy as a Christian option. There are more women than men.
