As I understand it, Native American land is not part of the U.S. and the president of the United States of America can only be someone born in the U.S.

If a Native American is born on NA land, can they be president of the U.S?

  1. Yes.

  2. Yes, Native American land is still actually considered US soil.

  3. They are still Americans, so yes.

It's not really much different in how the Amish communities/cultures are still considered Americans and likewise choose to do their own thing.

  4. Why not? more than half of America is foreigners.

  5. ƝɨѕhҠѡe is correct. It is considered federal land on which native americans have certain rights of self government, but these rights are not absolute. (I'm not saying that's a good situation, but that's the current state of the law). They have the same right to run for President as John McCain, who was born on a US controlled military base in Panama.

  6. Reservations are lands held in "TRUST" (by the government) on behalf of Native Americans. in other words "reserved" for Native Americans, that's why they are called "Reservations"

They are not separate from the U.S. no more that wildlife reserves or parks.
