  1. Yeah who cares

  2. who cares?

  3. Both motorcycles and cars have improved a lot but my experience still holds after 43 years.

When I was in college, my sole means of transportation was a motorcycle.  The first was a Honda 305 Super Hawk, with all of 28.5 hp.  I rode it from coast to coast with a buddy on another one.

One day at the University, I saw a classmate pull up next to me in his new Mustang 289 four-speed.  We took off together and I held back a little at first and then cranked on full throttle and passed him like he was anchored to the spot.  He later said, "You were just playin' with me, weren't you?"  Of course I was.

The new Mustang GTs have more net horsepower than that one, but they've gained 927 pounds at the curb (1965: 2,556 lbs; 2008: 3,483 lbs).  I just rented the GT350H, and off the line it's a slug.

A 330 lb Ninja 250R is rated at 32.5 hp and cranks out 14,000 rpm with dual overhead cams and four valves per cylinder, while my 305 maxed out at 9,000 rpm with a single overhead cam and two valves per cylinder, and weighed 20 pounds more.

No question, a properly ridden 250R will leave a non-GT500KR Mustang in the dust for the first1/8 mile or so.

  4. yes the ninja 250 can beat the mustang off the line depending on your reflexes but in a race it will kick the ninjas but

  5. IDK

  6. Mustang GT ?   NO

    Mustang LX ?  YES

  7. off the line... down the road... on the highway..The Mustang GT will roast the Ninja 250. That ninja with a 100lb rider is making .075 Horsepower per pound, with NO TORQUE, and the Mustang GT with a 100 lb driver is making .086 Horse power per pound with MASSIVE torque.

I have a YZF 1000R, I can't get off the line before the Mustangs can...they can tach out at 6000 grand and dump the clutch... I have to clutch off the line or I will end up on my back.... after about 50 feet though they start watching the tail light get dimmer and dimmer until they can't see it anymore.

Answer, nope, the 250 gets behind the mustang off the line and watches it walk away...

  8. yes your thinking less weight though, of course its going to take it depending on what the mustang has at the end of the race who knows

  9. It depends on what type of a Mustang it is.  If is a V6 Mustang it will beat it, if it's a GT the Mustang will win.
