Can a PS3 controller battery ever wear out?

  1. Unfortunately yes, like all rechargeable batteries, the life of it decreases a little with every use.

    When I say rechargeable, I mean you can recharge it with a USB cable ( one is included) by plugging it into the controller and the other end in the PS3 ( and yes, you can plug and play)

    But you'll eventually have to play using the USB cable all the time or buy a new PS3 controller.


  2. No, You only have to charge the  controller.

  3. It uses it's own type of rechargeable battery. Any battery will wear off with time, but you can find an exact instruction on it's replacement in PS3's manual.

  4. The PS3 controller battery will wear out after sometime. It uses an internal rechargeable battery that charges via USB. Pretty nifty huh?

    If anytime the battery cell dies (meaning it won't charge), send it to Sony and they should give you a new controller.

    Problems happen like doesn't last as long on one charge, stops charging/working.
