  1. Pinto is not really a breed, just a description of the horse's coloration.  All the term "pinto' means is that the horse has patches of different colors on their body, not just socks or a blaze.  Do an internet search for 'pinto horse' and you should find pictures to use as an example.  A roman nose is just a description of shape of the nose, almost any type of horse can have one.

  2. any horse can have a roman nose. if she's black and white, she's a pinto... that's her color. but if she's a Paint (APHA), or not is the question.

  3. if she has "spots" or a broken coat color, there's pinto in her breeding somewhere. google "pinto horse" (or "paint horse") and you'll learn a bunch about them. any horse regardless of breeding can have a roman nose. it's just their conformation.

  4. i thught the Pinto was the breed and paint was the colour???

ahh well. yeh, you think how many people have different noses.

a pic would help though, we could tell for deffo then.

  5. yes your mare is a pinto- thats just a coloring.

almost any horse can have a roman nose, just depends on their breeding.

and I think you mean is she a PAINT. THAT is the BREED with PINTO coloring. and you would have to have papers to know that.

  6. maybe?

  7. Yes, a pinto horse can have a Roman nose. I know this because I have a pinto horse with a Roman nose.

If she has pinto coloring then she is a pinto. If you are asking if she is a paint, you would need to know her sire and dam and they would both have to be paints.

  8. Although there is a registration for pinto horses, The word 'pinto' describes more so the horses color than breed.

Any horse that has a colored coat (patches of white and any other base color) can be referred to as a pinto, no matter breed, conformation or any thing else. A roman nose does not constitute whether your horse is a pinto 'color'.... The two have nothing to do with each other.

  9. yeah, just about any horse can be roman nosed. if she is black AND white then she is a pinto, unless the white is just regular markings (ie blaze, snip, star, sock, ect...)

  10. She might be a mixed breed, but noses arent the main factor in telling if your horse is a pinto. Paints are color breeds, and it matters more about her color than conformation.
