I don't think a primary care doctor can terminate the relationship if you get diagnosed with HIV, but I am not sure.  You may want to talk with an attorney or someone from your state's Medical Board to get more info. To me, the fact that he's not giving you a reason for the termination is an indication that he knows that what he is doing is wrong.

    However, as another person stated, this doctor clearly does not want to treat you, and forcing him to do so, even if it was illegal for him to terminate the relationship, could cause more problems.

    Your infectious disease doctor may be able to refer you to another primary care doctor who will treat you with the respect you deserve.


  2. IDK, but if he doesn't want to treat you, why would you want to force him to keep you?  You would likely get better care from someone else.
