My doctor doesn't countersign passports and Im at a loss. I've checked the IPs website for acceptable signees but I don't really know anyone with these job titles. A friend says that working for Royal Mail (he's worked there for many years) makes him eligible to countersign. Is this correct?

  1. Are you sure you can't find anybody? It's quite a comprehensive list. Do you not use a dentist, for example?

As for Royal Mail, if they are a "Post Office official" then yes. But I wouldn't take their word for it. Go for a definitely acceptable person otherwise your passport application will be rejected and you'd probably have to pay again to re-apply.

  2. Postie here - I cant counter sign a Passport Application but Counter Staff at Crown Offices can do you know anyone in your local PO
