Can a Sailboat and a Jet Ski share a slip?

I'm sure it varies from marina to marina.. but say I was in Marina Del Ray in L.A. but any posh marina experience is welcome...

If I have a 28 or 30ft sailboat, with no dinghy, can I keep a wave runner or Jet Ski in the slip as long as the both fit with no obstruction to my neighbors?

Is this generally allowed or will the dockmaster make me move the ski? I can't trailer or dry-dock the ski and want to keep them together..

In your experience is this allowed/common?

Should I keep the dinghy and forget the jet ski?

Where do you safely and legally keep a jet-ski that is used frequently if it must stay in the water or there is no trailer for it?

I'm a live-aboard aqua rat who doesn't have a truck, my only land vehicle is a motorcycle, so I can't get anything out of the water...

  1. A.  Just ask him and deal wit the outcome.

    B.  Or you might not want to , befriend the Dock Master. If you, can. Get to know him by his first name.  Talk about the weather, and what let him tell you about what he knows about the "harbor"  now and then.  Don,t be obviously smoozing up to him.   He might say no biggie just keep it tied tight buoyed from the other boats/slips and your good!
