I've an existing home theater system (SAMSUNG) that comes with an amp that is integrated with the DVD player. Recently I've bought a Yahama Sound Bar (3000series). Can I connect this sound bar to the Samung DVD *** amp? IF so, can advise how to do that? I'm using a LCD TV with HDMI input. There's also a HMDI and Optics for both the SAMSUNG and Yahama sound bar.

  1. First off, the YSP-3050 sound bar looks like it has most receiver functions built in to it such as a FM tuner, ipod input, satillite receiver input, etc.  I guess if you wanted to add this to your samsung-home-theater-in-a-box, you would need to have an RCA, optical or coaxial output on your Samsung home theater since the sound bar doesnt have a speaker wire input to use as a stand alone speaker.  If you dont have any audio outputs on your Samsung, then you wont be able to use it as another speaker on your current system.

  2. Can you please explain exactly what a sound bar is? I've never heard the term before
