My husband and I just got married. We have two childrens already. He has the Temporary Protected Status card since 2000. Can he apply for a US residency even tough he came here illegally. Also, I'm a US citizen.

Thanks

  1. Yes you can petition for your husband to become a permanent  resident.

  2. Yes. You can sponsor him to have permanent residency. He is not here illegally, though, if he is a TPS holder (regardless of how he came he has been granted permission to be here if he has TPS).

Check out the website www.uscis.org as well as speak to an immigration attorney.

  3. Yes. However he earned TPS, he's legit. You would marry him like any US citizen marrying a foreigner.
