Can a TV blow up?

Question

Will a television set really explode if you shoot it?? I see that in SO many movies and was just wondering if that really holds truth. THANKS IN ADVANCE! :o)

Old tube tv's actually "blow in".  They implode because of the vacuum of the CRT.  They do this fairly violently if done from the front of the tube.  The safest way to break a tube is in the back (if you think of a CRT like a light bulb, the back would be the s***w portion)
