  1. It'll operate but all you'll see is snow - you wont see a picture or hear any sound.

The USA uses the NTSC system. Ireland, like most of Europe, uses the far superior PAL system. Both systems use completely different signals, so your USA NTSC TV wont be able to read the Irish PAL signal.

  2. pretty sure they have TVs in ireland too

    (edit)

sorry.  appears from the thumbs down that they do not yet have TVs in ireland.

  3. no buy one when you get there

  4. should do but you will have to buy a transformer thingy for the plug coz they are diffrent

  5. it would have to be pal/ntsc and youll have to buy a transformer

  6. TV's from the US use the NTSC system...European TV's use PAL and these are different systems.

Also bear in mind both the mains voltage and frequency might be different in Ireland than to the US.....it certainly is here in England where I now live.

  7. Nly if u hav a transformer plug cause the voltage ere is much bigger than in america!

  8. No. TV signals in Ireland use the PAL standard

  9. Buy a new one when you get there, they are cheap enough....

  10. Only if you live on the top of a mountain in the West with a wopping big aerial pointing in the right direction.
