Can a Television taken from USA work in Kenya?? or any other electronics for that matter?

I'm looking to import TVs and DVD Players and fridges, dishwashers, and electric cookers. Does anyone know if they will work fine in Kenya, I know someone who gets them from England and imports them to Kenya and they work fine.

How about Electronics from USA? does anyone know about Voltage differences and plug difference?

My father was stationed in Nigeria for 3 years. No electronics from the US work in Africa- you have to get the 220 volt electronics or a convertor with each one. We had 2 heavy duty convertors for our fridge which we took from the US.  You should look at 220 Volt stores (there are some scattered around - esp in Toronto , Canada.) Also US has 2 prongs, in Africa mostly they have 3 prong. Good luck!
