  1. As long as you feed it what turtles eat. Like lettuce, carrots, and other vegetables. Maybe you could keep it in a small pool with sand. I'm sure it'll live.

  2. Usually if its a box or a snapping turtle,,,,

We had one that lived in our backyard for about 8 years,

we knew he was the same turtle because he had a scar where my mom accidenty scraped his shell with the mower.

he came out  every summer, we would play with him a while and let him go,, even when my brother glued wheels on him and painted him like a race car, he kept comming back,

  3. Yes, I used to have one in my backyward... I put a wood plank to lean against the wall so it can create a shelter/shade for my turtle...

He got stolen though... Made me sad...

  4. no it cant ..... it would be to cold .... just put it in a tank with warm water ....... it would die

  5. Give it a small pool, make sure its not too dry, make sure theres no way to escape, and make sure its getting enough food. If you do these 4 things, it'll have a great life.

  6. Yes they can!  My grandma had turtles in her backyard when I was growing up in CA.  I am not sure if they could survive in cold weather though.  They loved watermelon rhind.  the only thing is they like to dig...so make sure you have like a brick wall all around.  One of them got through the gate and got run over by a neighbor :( .

  7. yay u can

you need a good spot so he can have some shade and drink water. also you need kind of a forest spot so he can think he is actually in his own habitat

  8. I suppose that depends on what your back yard is.

    If its normal, yeah, sure.

Now, if you lined the entire place with beartraps and poison..  No.

  9. what kind of turtle? and where do you live?

  10. yea, their harmless if you feed them and give them water. if really bad weather strikes let the turtle come indoors. but if its an evil snapping turtle send it to the animal shelter

  11. yes

if you have a pond or a lake behind your house it will live in there

  12. a turtle can only live in your back yard if you have like a lake or a pond in your back yard and some food that what ever kind of turtle you have will eat

  13. YES BUT SEAS TURTLE CAN NOT

  14. Probably not out in the open, There will most likely be animals that will take it from you. Get like a really big tank, Like BIG. Thats what I did and he loved it. I would take him out and he would alway try to climb back up. But Don't leave it out in the open...

  15. If you have a nice garden area it can.  Most like a nice planted area with a lot of vegetation, but will crawl out in the open to sun themselves and that is a must for most all reptiles.  It also depends on what kind of turtle.  A box turtle or Turpin can.  I water turtle like the alligator snapper, red eared slider, and soft shell turtle need water.  One from a pet store could even be a  tortoise that may require a dessert like climate.  What kind is it?

  16. A tortoise can. I've had one show up on the back porch to eat the cat food every night for six years now.
