Can a U.K mobile phone receive calls from a person in a foreign country?

If so....is it the same as calling a land line ...do they just need the int. code...... or is it not possible?

i'm in U.K, they're in Russia, many thanks for any info!

Yes, of coarse but you may get a charge as well because the connection from your service provider to you ( Orange, O2, BT, etc ) is not always charged to the caller, so check it out with your phone company first or you may find some surprises.

Yes they put in 44 for the UK international code but take the first 0 off the start of your mobile number.

If you are in the UK when you receive the call it won't cost you anything but the people in Russia will probably pay quite a bit to make it

The person abroad can call you by dialing 00-44 and your full phone number minus the 0 at the start of your number e.g. 00-44-7941-123456

Yes you can, but watch the price of the calls depening on your provider. This goes for you & the other party. Sometimes they charge just to get the call as well as the charge for making the call.

Yes.  The person in Russia will pay international calling rate.  The person in UK with UK mobile wll not have to pay to receive the call.

You only pay to receive calls on your UK mobile if you are outside UK....then even calls from UK are expensive to receive.

uk mobiles can receive calls from anywhere.

many of them now have automatic international roaming too or at least can be requested. this implies you can also dial from most countries, when you are outside the uk.

They just call as usual.  You'll be ok, but it may cost them a penny or two.
