  2. yes! I was born to american parents, but born in Costa Rica. i currently live in the United States. i have dual  citizenship. Also, you don't have choose one over the other when you turn 18 anymore.

  3. Yes, you can hold dual citizenship, although, as noted on the US government web site listed below, the US government does not encourage US citizens to become dual citizens.

Please look into the income tax laws.  You must file US tax every year no matter if you are living in the US or not.  The US will tax your worldwide income every year.  There are tax treaties with various countries that can minimize being taxed in two countries, however if you choose to live for a year outside the US you will likely have to file income tax in that country and definitly in the US also.

In many countries other than the US, if you do not own property in the country and are not living in the country you do not have to file an income tax return.  This is not so for the US.

I am a dual US and Canadian citizen, who grew up in the US and moved to Canada 20 years ago for a job.  (I had a work visa the first 5 years I was in Canada).

  8. Yes US allows dual citizenship.  Not with all the countries though. Dual citizenships are agreement between two countries to honour. I am not sure about Ireland. You might want to check with Ireland Immigration and citizenship services or with USCIS.
