Can a U.S. citizen support a detained international visitor?

  1. At the airport now?  There must be a good reason for that.  A little now to think of sponsoring one.

  3. I feel sure you would certainly be allowed to give them small amounts of money with the knowledge of the establishment that is detaining them.

    I know the case of Simon Sheppard and Stephen Whittle known as the “Heretical Two”. They are two British dissidents who were prosecuted in Britain, but while on bail they fled to the US and have applied for political asylum in the US. They are now being held in the Santa Ana Jail till their case is heard. Several people have sent them money and I am trying to do so myself although for technical reasons this is difficult from outside the country.
