Can a UK citizen adopt from Ethiopia?

I've had a look at some agencies on-line but they seem to all specify US ciizens?

  5. Yes it is totally possible. However, the Ethiopian government has authorized very few adoption agencies to operate in that country. If adoptions are attempted by outside means, the children will not be eligible to receive permission to exit the country. It is difficult, but needed and possible.

    It's probley best to go through a big adoption agency in the UK, or contact a children's home or agency directly there. I have worked in a children's homes in Africa and I have seen many times international family's going direct. They however must pay bribes and "extra costs" but ti's not usually much. It's important to have a friend or contact there in the country that you can trust to negotiate in there native language and help you with the red tape. It's not as messy as it sounds though.
