Can a UPS/Surge Protector be used on a large screen rear projection TV?

Wondering if these ups/surge protectors are worth having for short power outages.

  1. Unless it's a really big UPS, it won't last long powering a large rear projection TV - just too much wattage.

    However the surge protection function may be worthwhile if your area has frequent lightening strikes or power outages.
