Can a US citizen open a PO Box in Mexico?

Thats it... Can a US citizen open a PO BOX in Mexico???

Probably not.  Unlike how the U.S. caters to every Mexican's need, Mexico does not return the favor.  U.S. citizens can't own land, speak against their gov. and many other things, so I doubt they could have a PO Box.

Sure .  I am an American living in Mexico.  i just go to the post office and pay the $15.oo a year fee for the post office box.  And yes, Americans can and do own property in Mexico and have bank accounts and speak freely and are well-treated by the Mexican people.  PLEASE do not listen to those who have never been here and judge all Mexicans by  illegals and inaccurate news reports....or by the gov't officials, whom most Mexican citizens cannot stand either.

Yes. You need a receipt such as a light bill, phone bill or bank statement to prove that you live somewhere, a copy of your immigration document and the original and whatever the local postmaster decides to charge you for the rent on the PO box.

Yes you can. As Charlie states. (We have one, and have had for many years so don't remember the first time we got it any longer.) But I believe you need two items.  You will for sure, need proof of residence. An Electric bill in YOUR name that is recent and shows it has been paid. And PROBABLY residence status rather than tourist status. As in FM-3 or better immigration papers.

Yes, but mail takes a long time to be delivered. In Baja Norte we have US postal boxes through our internet service, delivered three days a week. When my husband passed away some years ago, the Consul General's office delivered his death certificate to the local farmacia. Get a US postal box.
