Can a VIH positive immigrate to Canada?

Someone who has all the requirements for a student visa (including admission and scholarships), but turns out to be VIH positive.

  2. You mean HIV?

    It seems that they make decisions individually.  The main reason HIV+ people get refused is if they are seen to be causing "excessive demand" on the health care system.

  3. If you are HIV positive, you may or may not be rejected as a permanent immigrant. That depends on whether Health Canada considers HIV a contagious disease that poses a risk to other Canadians. See the link below. You would have to pass a medical exam to immigrate here.

    On the other hand, as a tourist or student who is returning home after their visit or studies are over, you would not even need a medical exam if you are going to be in Canada less than six months. That information is shown on the Canada Immigration website as well, just use the link.
