Ok so this morning when i woke up i took a vitamin and a glass of water for breakfast b/c i had to be somewhere at 6:30am exactly.

so the reason i did that was b/c i noticed i had time to eat breakfast or walk my dog. i rather walk my dog then have to clean up the mess he made b/c i didn’t.

so then i brushed my teeth, and did proper mouth care. well then i felt queasy and threw up like yellow water stuff. witch was probably a digested vitamin and water (my breakfast).

so my question is what exactly could have caused that?

  1. The same problem happened to me, that's why I stoped taking vitamin tablets.   After a year without them, I now use the powdered version.  I am not sure why you threw up, but you should eat a meal before taking the tablet, as is advised on the bottle.

To use the powder, simply pour it in a wide base bottom container then add water and mix it with milk.  I use Women's Ultra Mega Maximum nutrition Formula from GNC.

  2. I think what happened is your body freaked out because you didn't eat when you took your vitamin.  I've had that happen before.  It's your body's way of saying "Wait a minute, I just got up.  Give me a bagel or something to absorb this stuff."

  3. yeah. my prenatal vitamins made me puke every time. it may help if you make sure to eat something before you take it so it doesn't upset your stomach.

  4. yes it definitely can.  Especially if it's a multiple vitamin.  I always take mine a little before bed so I already have something in my stomach from dinner.  I've read many places that taking it before bed helps your body absorb the vitamins better, as well.

  5. Yes.  Easily.

You need to take most vitamins with food.  Then there are other vitamins that just don't agree with your body, no matter whether you ate or not.  Those Centrum for Women vitamins will make me puke every time.  I gave up taking them.

Never eat a vitamin for breakfast, silly!  Go buy some of those meal replacement bars or meal replacement shakes.  I keep some in the fridge specifically for that reason.  I often don't have time to eat breakfast, but I get sick if I don't eat something, so I grab an Ensure out of the fridge and go do what I gotta do.  You can drink an Ensure while you walk your dog.  Well, unless you have a 200 pound Rottweiler puppy who is his least behaved early in the morning.....

  6. vitamins should be taken with food, even a glass of milk is better than water

  7. Exactly what vitamin did you take?  I know that niacin can give you some pretty severe reactions sometimes.  With me it is definately an unstable stomach.

  8. Well for vitamins and medicine its best to eat something before you take it so it can digest better. You can eat something simple like a loaf of bread or a few crackers. Then you take the vitamin.
