I had taken Xanax before, and it really didn't do anything to me. I went to a party a few nights ago and took a pill, and the guy said it was Xanax. Kept feeding me drinks, and there I am waking up in the morning at his house, and didn't remember the night at ALL. He said I made a fool of myself and told me things I only say to my close friends about my own personal sexual preferences. AND I don't remember sleeping with him at all. So my question really is - Can a Xanax erase your memory?

  1. No,but you may have hallucinations.

  2. I really recommend caution with all of the diazepam derivatives, such as ambien and xanax.  I find it potentially highly addicting in many patients.

The manufacturers web site provides the following comment,

"In addition to the relatively common (ie, greater than 1%) untoward events enumerated in the table above, the following adverse events have been reported in association with the use of benzodiazepines: dystonia, irritability, concentration difficulties, anorexia, transient amnesia or memory impairment, loss of coordination, fatigue, seizures, sedation, slurred speech, jaundice, musculoskeletal weakness, pruritus, diplopia, dysarthria, changes in libido, menstrual irregularities, incontinence and urinary retention.
