Can a Yaesu VX-7R receive the PMR446 channels for example 446.03125MHz?

Is it possible to set the deviation to 2.5KHz?

  1. no, you cannot.

    the toy radio PMR446 is 2.5kHz deviation and the ham radio is 5.0kHz deviation. Not exactly compatable, either you will be over deviated on one or under deviated on the other.

    Another consideration is that the use of a PMR446 in the USA by an unlicensed person is illegal, and since you are very close to the common "simplex calling channel", you will be heard and caught.
