  1. No which is why when their born they let it all out.

  2. no they cry after coming out as this is a reaction to 'air'

  3. I'm sorry I can't look up the info for you to be more specific, but babies do cry in the womb. I've read it. Something like that. They cry because its a shock to them, being from one environment to something else so completely different. They don't cry the same in the womb. If you mean, scream, they don't have full function or use of their vocal chords until out of the womb. Something to do with the air and oxygen in it.

Better explained:  All babies are born soaking wet, and on meeting the atmosphere, the skin cools; this triggers two reflexes:

    1.      The cold crying reflex – cold, wet diapers produce the same result, crying.

    2.      The cold pressor reflex – cold skin raises blood pressure.

In order to cry, the child must first take a deep breath, and an inspiratory “gasp” is often the first sign, triggered by cold, that a child is going to cry or breathe.  Contraction of the diaphragm and intercostal muscles increase thoracic volume and create negative intra-thoracic pressure.  Once air is in the lungs, another reflex is triggered that relaxes the pulmonary arterioles; this causes an enormous increase in pulmonary blood flow.

***all the source links have articles you can read for more info on the subjects.

  4. I read somewhere that babies start to cry silently in the womb from about 12 weeks onwards, they make all of the motions of crying but why they do this is not known.

  5. No its not possible dew to there lungs not being active

  6. No, the childs lungs are not expanded. They have fluid in them.

  7. They don't cry in the womb.  Breathing(air) is required to cry and there is no air in the womb.  They don't know exactly why babies cry when they are born.....they think it's a combination of breathing actual air and the shock of a totally new environment.

  8. Yes I think they can! They are scared when they come out. They are also being pushed through a tiny whole. They don't know what's going on.

  9. Not all babies cry when they come out, my daughter didn't. At first I was scared because I thought something was wrong with her, the midwife tapped her bum and she gave a little wimper and that was it. She cried about 2 hours later.

Babies can cry in the womb, it is called a silent cry, their bottom lips quiver and they show emotion whilst doing it.

When women have abortions after 12 weeks the baby does a silent scream, this is out of fear over what is going on in the womb. Watch The Silent Scream on youtube, must warn you it is horrible to watch. My mum made me watch it when I found out I was pregnant. Scared the life out of me. I would never have an abortion (only watch that vid if u don't cry easily)

  10. Babies can't cry in the womb, because in order to cry people need to inhale air, and in the womb their are only amniotic fluids!

    But they have hiccups!

They cry first when they come out because of stress. And later on babies cry only for 4 reasons, and if you are a mother and you will remember those three things. You will never- ever have problems, with you babies crying.1. Hunger (feed right the way)

    2. Wet diaper (change, if baby still cries after feeding) 3. Pain (give tylenol or go to doctor)

    4. Colics ( unsolved mystery, treated with fennel water) Good luck

  11. technically they do, I learner in school but you wont hear becasue of the fluids. the reason they cry when being born is becasue they are leaveing a dark cozy, comforting place to come to a bright cold scary place.

    hope i answered your question..

    good luck

  12. i think everyone else had this one covered

  13. No a baby can't cry in the womb obviously their lungs aren't developed yet?!

  14. Their eyes I think are closed in the womb. If they cry then it would be whilst in a dream.
