  1. They can die durring incubation and befor hatching. SOme can even durring hatching. They can strain themselves and arnt strong enuff to free themselves. SOme have deformaties and die. SOme die after a couple days.

If you collected the eggs within 5 days there is a high chance they will be fine. If the eggs have been outside for a week or 2 than they could be dead but look alive. I have seen a couple eggs that had pope the yolk and it exploded in the egg which caused the baby to die.

The last coupkle of days are the criticalist. You need to have the temp between 98-100 degrees. Turn them at least 3 times a day. Have plenty of water in the rings at the bottom of incubator at all times. Increase the humidity the last 3 days. This helps soften the shell for them. Add sponges or mist of water sprayed on them.

  2. yes if mom isn't taking care of it and keeping it warm.

  3. I think so. Maybe if the egg isnt warm or turned like the mom would do.

  4. yes they can if they are not warm enough or they just might die

  5. Aritficially incubating eggs is very chancy.  There are many factors to consider other than temperature.  Such as keeping the humidity at the proper percent.  Making sure that while turning eggs  they are not jarred , being certain not to turn them in the same direction, allowing air not to become stale.  I artificially hatched many bird eggs and was succesful about 75 percent of the time.  Dont be hard on yourself for not doin the right thing.  Even professionals  lose eggs.

Also dont give up on those eggs, they may still hatch.  Give them a few more days
