  1. A baby's teeth are growing in from the beginning and coupled with pacifiers and/or bottle nipples, it is very possible that the gums are very sore.

Try ambasol (spelling?), not the baby stuff, the original.....it will calm the nerves on the gums.....If you do not have ambasol, you can use vanilla extract....same as ambasol, use your fingers to spread it on the gums.

Vanilla extract is a natural anesthetic as it has an alcohol content which will numb the gums and calm the child, so care is to be used with how much is given...just a coating on the finger and not much more.......about an hour between applications also.

.......if you are concerned about using vanilla extract, it was the only thing 40 years ago when I was growing up.....and my grandmothers used it on my parents before that..  It is a homeopathic remedy from many years ago.

  2. yeah why not? they'll heal faster though

  3. If you are talking about a red-purplish swelling on the baby's gums, it may just be an eruption cyst.  It is just the sac of the tooth protruding through and did not get "cut" by the tooth as of yet.  It should go away when the tooth erupts.  But check with the dentist anyway so he/she can have a look at.  Good luck!
