  1. nope. not a chance... Bass is more of a background sound

but u could use bass for a good riff like My Sharona

  2. Of course you don't need a regular guitar.  Lots of bands do fine with piano, keyboard, a brass section, a mandolin, whatever.  Use your imagination.

  3. yea, it just depends on your style of music. i've seen a few GOOD bands without a guitarist.

for example, "death from above 1979"

  4. Oh yeah!

In Jazz music, my favorite type is when you have, a bass guitar, some drums, a saxiphone, and a piano.

Now that is one sweet soundin' band right there, and no regular guitar.

Just depends on taste and style, usual anything's possible!

  5. i can think of some combinations. just depends on what kind of band you want. the bass is not just backgound sound. bass can drive songs, sometimes more than guitar.

you can  have a band with bass, drums, piano, harmonica, saxophone, bongos.

you just need a creative bass player.

  6. h**l no, unless you got somethin else like mandolin or another good instrument. the bass cannot be a lead instrument it sounds like c**p

  7. that would be hard to make music then... since you need a guitar for melody, chorus, solo, etc...
