Can a bank tell you when your direct deposit check will come in?

A Bank can only see your direct deposit once your employer has sent it to your account.  Sometimes the bank can see the deposit a day or two before it is posted to your account, but this is not true for every direct deposit.  

If you need to know what day your direct deposit will be in your account, you should ask your employer.

At best, only the day before when the transmission has started.

The bank can't but your employer's Payroll department will tell you.  Most companies have a very regular payroll schedule - where I work, my check is transferred on Wednesday night and the funds are available the next day.
