  2. Afraid not.

    Insect flight is far less efficient than avian flight, and in fact is only possible since the creatures are very small. They don't have the endurance or efficiency to reach high altitude. And some birds fly amazingly high; there are native birds seen near the summit of Everest, 29,000 feet up! Most creatures can't survive for long at those altitudes, people included; but these can not just thrive but FLY there!
