Can a bill be submitted to a credit agency without a SS# or Driver Lic#?

I went to a dentist and was given a quote of $600-$800 for a root canal, after I was there the quote became $1930.00. I left and now they are now billing me $55 for a office visit when they never said that I would be charged for the office visit. I went to another Dentist the next day and was told that I did not need a root canal and was not charged for the visit. My question is, I did not give them my SS# or Driver Lic#, can they report this invoice to the credit agencies.

  1. It will not be too hard to locate your credit report with your address or insurance. You are much better off talking to them and explaining the situation. Request a waiver and explain the situation, sometimes it works, others it doesn't. But a default on 50 bucks is really not worth the damage it can cause.

  2. yes it can.

however it will not have your SS# and won't be able to verify you with that.

Did you expect a free office visit? ha

  3. unless there is another person in your area with your same name.. all they have to do is search your address or contact your insurance (if you gave them any) and it can go to your credit..
