Can a broken bracket cut your mouth?

Question

The orthodontist assistant broke the top left and bottom right part of my porcelain bracket and went ahead and wired up my braces anyway. It is a week later and my mouth has become irritated in that location. I called the office today and she told me that has nothing to do with my irritated mouth as long as the ligature holding the bracket to the wire is still there. It felt like she was just saying this to cover herself.

Yes definitely if it is sharp.

i wouldnt say that it would cut ur mouth but it would rub it raw and get a sore if u dont get it fixed soon!
