Can a camera flash harm your eyesight, if used too close?

If the eye feels 'burnt' by a flash hours after the event - can it damage the eyesight? I feel my eye has been damaged - weeks after the incident my eyesight in only the eye that was photographed has become blurred. Prior to the flash my vision was 20/20. Please advise...

  1. Best thing to do would be to go to doctor and check your sight.

    And yes, it can damage your sight.


  2. yes. as for any bright light exposure, you can burn or irritate your corneas.

    see an optometrist if you have had problems from this for more than a few hours.
