    Do you mean taxes from some previous transaction, back meaning past due?

    Or pay-back, meaning he didn't charge you the right amount and says you owe more money?

  3. I don't think so but maybe they would sneak it in the total price of the car.  Call another dealership that sells used cars and ask them the same thing and see what they say.

    If the car has not been registered,  there may be state fees due before the car can be registered again.  I would certainly make the car dealer pay those.

  8. they can't make you pay back taxes on the car your buying. but if you owed back taxes on a car you previously owned you'll have to pay those taxes before you can register another car
