What would I have to worry about other than the battery dying? I was just going to replace the battery..

  1. Yes. The battery may have been drained by the clock running. A good charge might fix that. Change the oil to get rid of any condensation and sludge that might have accumulated. A good long road trip can burn off condensation, but not sludge.

  2. Check all fluids look for issues> add some injector cleaner> 1 can of octane boost> get 5 gals of 87 octane before starting> Let idle till the new gas gets in the engine>

  3. I have a lot of cars and most of them sit for a long time because they are not insured and I don't need to drive them. After they sit for 6 or so months, I usually charge the battery and start them up. Sometimes the carburetors will get plugged due to the old gas, but that does not happen very often. If they sit for over a year, I pull the spark plugs and squirt some Mystery Oil down the cylinder to lube it up.

  4. depends on the age of the car, most new cars would sit for a year with no problems, if anything would got wrong it would be the battery like you said.  Just disconnect to battery before you leave it

  5. yes, it should still run if you replace the battery.  unless, of course, it has a problem.

  6. what's to worry about.  Take the battery out and put it in a warm place and then when you get ready to start it again charge it and put it back in the vehicle.  A car can sit indefinitely without any harm.

  7. squirrels or rats deciding your car would make the perfect nest. they usually chew up wires pretty good.  that could happen.
