Question:

Can a cat get pregnany 4 days after giving birth

My cat gave birth 2 weeks ago and she sadly lost all the babies as they were born almost a week premature. She is due to be spayed on Thursday as we feel she has calmed down and is happier now, and she has been kept indoors. However 4 days after giving birth she got out (hot summer days and kids at home -plus she loves going out) and i found her in next doors garden cavorting with a local un neutered Tomcat. She was mid-business and i am not sure if the pair managed to complete the deed or not, however would it have even been possible for her to get pregnant again only 4 days after delivering babies? I really don;t want her to have another litter, giving the difficulties she experienced, however i would feel very compromised in 'aborting' her pregnancy- if there was one- as we are catholics.

thanks for your advice

  1. actually she can get pregnat again and if you wnat to abort them

  2. Yes.

get her to the vet and have her spayed even if she is pg.

It is much nicer to have her spayed even if pregnant.  Rather than bringing more cats into the world who possibly wont' have homes.

    good luck

  3. Yes, she very well could be pregnant.  Take her in and get her spayed - and as catholics, surely you object to all the healthy kittens who are euthanized by the thousands daily, because there is no room in the shelter and not enough homes?  What crime did they commit, other than having owners who didn't bother to get their cats spayed or neutered?  Get her spayed - don't contribute to all of the deaths in the shelters.

  4. Yes, your cat could have come into heat after losing her kittens.  If you found her with a tomcat, then it is likely that she could be pregnant.  Please go ahead and take her to get her spayed now.  She will be much happier and so will you!

  5. It is possible for a cat to get pregnant soon after giving birth, but she has to be in heat to enable the tom to release her eggs. But, it's not likely she is.

But, allowing your cat to go through pregnancy and giving birth again so soon after her last birth is not very good for her health as repetitive calling and birthing takes a lot out of her body causing her to lose a lot of weight. If she does go through another pregnancy and delivey so soon after you are risking your cat's health and possibly her life.

Do the kind thing for her and have her spayed as soon as possible as she would be a much happier and healthier pet if you do.
