  1. Whether a person's brain learns to self-regulate or whether the person learns to control the behaviors is still being debated and researched. But like children get better at reading, math, sports, etc. with practice, children get better at controlling themselves with practice, so fewer adults show symptoms. A child with ADHD can lead a very normal, productive life as an adult and no one not close to the person will ever figure it out, but the adult probably still has ADHD. But this is only if they are properly diagnosed and treated.

  2. Everybody has ADHD, its only a problem, when it becomes a problem,

As for treatment, stay the h**l away from Ritalin similar drug treatments.

I like many others who were put on it as children, now are more susceptible to depression, Introversion (where before we were extroverted), We have problems expressing ourselves, and feelings, making it appear as if we are very insecure about ourselves, when in fact we just over analyse everything we do.

Myself, and 2 of my friends were put on it, 1 of them isn't happy alot of the time,.. he jus doesn't know how to be, and the other has tried to kill himself, and caused himself self harm.

Before Ritalin, i was a very outgoing guy, i had lots of friends, Ritalin's long term effects Totally s***w this up.

Doctors will tell you its all bs, but they just want to get paid... Ritalin WILL destroy your childs self esteem, will stunt his/her socialism... It also causes a permanent side effect, where in situations where the person requires adrenaline (such as if they get in a fight), The person will shake uncontrollably, and be rendered basically useless by it.

Sorry, i just want as many people to know what Ritalin really does to you, so it can be finally driven off the market.

If you want to control ADHD, remove artificial colours, flavours, and preservatives from their diet. Natural colouring and flavours are fine.

I would just like to add,

Using ADHD as an excuse is normal for a child, kids act out, and do stupid things sometimes, But if you do not allow kids to learn how to control their own behavior, then they will find that coping with life is very difficult, as i said above, i was on ritalin as a child, and i find coping with changes, and new things can be very difficult at times now. where as before, i just rolled with it.

The real effects of ritalin, cannot be observed until adulthood, unfortunately.

Another thing i would like to mention is that Ritalin has been known to cause the heart to enlarge, some children, having died from taking it.

theres no cure for ADHD, because everybody has it, and those are the words taken from the psychologist i was sent to when i was first put on Ritalin. There are alot of reasons for triggers, as i mentioned earlier.

Just make note, and realise that there are many ways to work around this little stumbling block.

  10. ive seen plenty of people grow out of it.. usually not until theyre older but alot of times bipolar disorder is mistaken for adhd in a child so it seems to just go away but they really never had it to begin with

  11. The symptoms of ADHD may be a little like a person who might get diabetes. They may be genetically prone to the problem. If you look up some things you will discover that a person may be able to live withouth the symptoms, if they are able to change their eating habits. Look up ADHD and candida, ADHD and leaky gut, ADHD and food sensitivites. If the digestive tract is healed, the symptoms of AHDD may reverse themselves, but it takes hard work. There are many adults with this disorder.
