It's real but it's a joke lol singing about Chairman Mao... Mao Zhu Xi ya Mao Zhu Xi lmao yea... they're just performers to entertain. I had a good laugh tho.

Ha ha ha. I cannot stop laughing.  From the dance move to the 'double happiness' wordings at the backdrop which is used for wedding only, this is definitely a joke video.

Those uniforms looks like the cultural revolution era.

it could be real. I wouldn't be suprised. I mean there are some people in china who still believe in communist. Why do you think that Leader mao is still praised highly in china?

I know know if the song is real or not. But i do know that the mainlanders have a song about communism and its still played today.

erm . yeah it could be real . i`ve never been to mainland china, my parents were born in hk . but it`s really possible that`s it real . i see things in chinatown about that in the US .

Well, imagine if a person in China saw a similar clip from the USA--say, a song-and-dance scene from West Side Story or South Pacific. They probably would have a reaction similar to yours. Is The West Side Story real, or is it a joke?

I'm not Chinese but I've lived in Beijing for 3 years. I just saw something very similar to this in a documentary on discovery channel called People's Republic of Capitalism. This clip is from some type of musical or play. I think the play is supposed to be historical and funny. In the documentary on discovery it showed people in the audience laughing but also talked about how this play reminded old chinese people of the "good old days" of the cultural revolution.
