I have a maytag dryer that is gas and moving south that requires replacing it with an electric one. I have the impression that selling the gas dryer alone will be more difficult that selling the pair.

  1. It would cost you even more to have it converted, sell it on is own someone will buy it or sell the pair and get yourself a new set, if you are moving the warranty will void it self .

you said that you are moving South, in the place that you are going to live you could call the Gas company and have them come in and install a gas line in  the laundry room instead. it would save you a lot of trouble and you will get to keep the washer and drier , you are right they will never give you the money that you paid for them.

  2. It's technically possible to covert the unit, I suppose.  But it most likely costs more than a new dryer.

As for moving one without the washer, it's a lot easier than you might think.  For people, one tends to break down before another, never at once.  I would put an ad up on craigslist.com to sell it.  If you live in a major city it might get picked up within a couple days.  Also, if you don't want to or can't move it for them, requiring them to pick it up isn't out of the question.

  3. No.

Go out and buy an electric one.

  4. No, just sell it and buy an electric one..
