  1. yes you're allowed to enlist in the army but your MOS(military occupational specialty)will be very limited. I'm in the army myself and i have a friend in my company who is colorblind and he told me he was only offered 3 mos's at the time he joined because of his condition.92F(cook)42A(administration)an... 88N(transportation movement coordinator). I'm not sure if they;re are any other mos's available now for the colorblind but I know for a fact that being colorblind disqualifies you for any combat related MOS.

    hope i helped.

  2. not sure about soldier but definitely not pilot

  3. Maybe, as there are colorblind sailors in the Navy.  However, if a person is colorblind they can not serve in certain fields.  In Navy, if one is colorblind they can not become electricians, electronics technicians, or other similar rates, as they need to be able to see wiring of different colors.

  4. I tried to enlist into the Air Force as a photographer. But they denied me because I discovered that I was color blind....but only shades or red-green. That disqualified me, so I joined the Air Force Security Police instead. I was also denied being a combat field medic. I guess you need good color vision due to handling blood or lab samples.

  5. my cousin was red-green color blind

    they let him in

  6. You can still be a soldier but your job choices would be more limited.

  7. Yes but you will be limited as to what duties you can handle.

  8. yes its a rule

  9. The most common colourblindness occurs when a person cannot differentiate between green and red. So maybe its something to do with the grass and blood!

  10. There are specific areas of placement that a colorblind person can qualify for. Of course this does depend on how colorblind/blind this person is...

    Example....shoot guns, flu planes...NOT allowed!

  11. I am red/green colorblind and was rejected for the US Coast Guard but had no trouble joining the US NAVY.

I don't believe the Army will have a problem with you at all. They may not let you drive or become an electrician.

During WW2 they used colorblind people by putting them in airplanes and having them look down at the ground to find camouflagedd tanks and such. You see thecolorr means nothing to us, we can see right through thecamouflagee.

  12. Not sure about the army, but I've got a colour-blind friend in the US Navy.

There were certain jobs where colour-sightedness is considered essential, stuff where cutting a green wire and not a blue one would kill people or cause a nuclear reaction.  He was automatically excluded from those jobs.  It sucks, but it's legal.

  13. i know they cant fly things but im not sure about other parts of the army. i woudlnt think so though : /
