If so, how?

When parents fail, for whatever reason, how can the community step in?

  1. activities and opportunities show the kids they have somewhere to turn instead of filling them with negativity

  2. When parents fail? Yikes.  Let's not look at this as a failure to parent. Plenty of folks pay attention to their children and do their best to raise them up. Children are savvy.  My 2 yr old knows she can get yogurt out of the fridge and open it before I can catch her if I'm not in the same room she's in, so my next step is to latch the fridge. I spend a ton of hours with my kids everyday b/c I homeschool them, and I still do not know what they do every minute I'm not sitting with my eyes and ears upon them. They need private lives too. But these kids have gone way to far.  I'd ask them what gave them such a stupid idea in the first place. I bet they wouldn't tell you how horrible their parents are.
