Let's say you gave a company your debit card number to charge you last month, and it expires this month. Can they charge you further?

  1. Once the card is expired, it is no good.  They won't be able to get any funds through it.  But that could constitute a delayed payment, non-payment, etc., and they can hold you accountable for all their associated fees./

  2. Yeah man, this is why you should buy a bunch of those mastercard gift cards with limited amounts of money on them, and use them to buy stuff. This way they can't take more money than you allot, and they can't track you either :)

  3. No, but if they aren't able to charge you for something that's under contract or that you signed saying you'd promise to pay them, then if they can't get another type of payment, then they'll take further actions (collections, credit reporting, etc)

  4. no, what they try to charge something it will say "card expired"
