  1. We really need more info.

    However, if you drive with out insurance - cause a wreck and damage someone's property. The insurance company can notify dmv of the situation and dmv will suspend your license.

    In order to get the license back, you will have to provide a promissory note from the insurance company where you agree to pay the insurance company back - along with all fees etc that the dmv requires.

Only the agency that issues a license can put a hold on it.  Your question is a bit vague though.  If by 'company' you mean an insurance company, yes indeed they will notify the agency if you don't have insurance and the agency will revoke your license, but that is NOT the company putting on a hold, it's the company giving information that leads to the DMV taking action.
