  1. You will have to find the ceiling Joist to s***w it into.Your ceiling is probably plaster not concrete. 8/19

  2. Fill it with something lighter

  3. Sorry but that question is not an easy one to answer without some additional information. Not all concrete is created equal - so questions around the thickness and condition come into play. What is the weight of the bag - you list the length but not the width. Also how are you planning to use  the bag - only for punching or you planning to do kicking or kneeing as well (kicking applies more force and kneeing is a downward force because you pull down on the bag as you knee). The other question is how do you plan to attach the bag to the ceiling - eye s***w or bolt.

I have placed a large heavy bag to a foot thick concrete ceiling at a local gym. The initial installation was done by someone else who tried to use an undersized eye bolt to hold the bag. The softness of the concrete plus the ability for the bolt to move - the bolt quickly expanded the hole and caused problems. The solution was to increase the diameter of the eye bolt to match the hole created plus to put a nut on the lower half to hold position and then had a large double nut/washer on top to tightly secure the bag. After that - there have been no issues with the bag and it is usually daily for mixed martial arts.
