Can a condensor microphone use its internal battery even if the mini disc recorder has plug in power?

I have a condensor mic and it has a battery in it.

It also supports plug in power, however I dont want to use the plug in power as it drains the battery quickly in the mini disc recorder.

Can I use the mic's battery even if the mini disc recorder has plug in power?

Yes. Just don't use it's external power jack. Run it direct as a self powered unit.
